Man And Girlfriend Hospitalized After Motorcycle And Van Crash In Port St. Lucie
A young couple was in a crash in Martin County when their motorcycle slammed into a Honda Accord, police officials said.
The 24-year-old motorcyclist, with his 18-year-old girlfriend seated behind him, was driving on SW Cameo Blvd near Florida’s Turnpike in Port St. Lucie against the flow of traffic, police said.
The motorcycle crashed into a red Honda Accord heading north on Crosstown Pkwy. The couple was pinned under the vehicle and both suffered severe injuries, the police report stated.
They were rushed to Jensen Beach Medical Center. Both were wearing helmets, police said.
The 18-year-old girl’s mother, a 38-year-old was devastated.
“A doctor called me,” she reported. “He said there was a crash involving my daughter. When I saw her I started crying.”
The 46-year-old Accord driver remained on scene and refused medical attention. No arrests were made and the police are still investigating.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this accident. “It is so important to be aware of motorcyclists on the road because of the severity of their injuries in accidents. There was a public service campaign that encouraged drivers to look left, right and left again just to provide added protection to motorcyclists. If you were injured in an accident and want to discuss your rights, please contact my office for a free consolation”.
