A Pompano Beach woman was hospitalized in a crash along Interstate 95, an official with the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The 24-year-old was driving her Isuzu Rodeo north along I-95 when her car was hit by a Saturn driven by a 20-year-old man of Miami Gardens, said a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol.
After colliding, both cars swerved onto the right shoulder just south of Atlantic Boulevard, the FHP spokesman said.
The 24-year-old was severely injured and taken to the hospital by paramedics at the scene.
The 20-year-old driver had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital, FHP said.
The accident remains under investigation, but investigators believe the 20-year-old was at fault in the crash, the FHP spokesman said. Her blood was taken at the scene and will be tested for drugs and alcohol, he added.
Anyone who may have information regarding the accident please contact your local police authority.
