A 26-year-old man was critically injured in a rollover crash that happened at the intersection of SW Martin Hwy in Martin County, according to reports made by Florida Highway Patrol officials.
The 26-year-old man was unconscious when the Jeep Cherokee he was driving crashed into a pickup truck and then rolled over on SW Martin Hwy in Martin County, police authorities and the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The crash happened on SW Martin Hwy near Interstate 95, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The man was taken to a local hospital in Martin County by EMS.
The pickup truck driver and two of his passengers were both unconscious at the time of the crash and were also taken to a nearby hospital.
The Jeep Cherokee went off the left side of SW Martin Hwy around a curve, rolled over and hit the pickup truck before it came to a stop, FHP said.
Firefighters extricated the man from the Jeep. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, officials said.
The accident is still under investigation. Officials have yet to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved.
