One Killed, One Critical In Boynton Beach Crash
Boynton Beach Police are investigating a traffic fatality that happened at the intersection of SW 2nd Avenue and SW 2nd Street.
Preliminary investigations showed that a Toyota Avalon was seen traveling south on SW 2nd St at a high speed. The vehicle struck a tree in a front yard of a house before hitting a white BMW.
The 35-year-old man, identified as Gildman Jeune, was killed when the car he was driving struck the tree in front of a home, Boynton Beach police said.
Glidman Jeune and his passenger, Gerson Chery, both 35 and both of Boynton Beach, were in the Avalon racing south on SW 2nd St when it struck the tree in the front yard of a home on the 300 block, before hitting the BMW, police said in a Twitter post.
The home is two blocks east of Interstate 95 and three blocks south of Boynton Beach Boulevard.
The two men were taken as trauma patients to Delray Medical Center, where Jeune died, police said. The posting did not give a condition for Chery.
No one in the BMW was hurt.
Anyone who witnessed the crash and has additional information is encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
