Three Boynton Beach Residents Killed In Car Crash

A crash on an Indian River County highway killed three young people from Broward and left two others hospitalized with serious injuries.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of Old Dixie Hwy near Sebastian’s Roadside Restaurant.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a black Volkswagen was heading north and lost control of the vehicle, driving off the road and into trees.

Two passengers who were thrown from the car,  and a third person inside the car died at the scene. Two other people inside the car were seriously injured.

The identities of those who died were not yet released by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The two people who survived were taken to a local hospital in Fellsmere, according to paramedics.

The northbound lanes of Old Dixie Hwy were closed for several hours.

Anyone with relevant information concerning the crash is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or any local authority in Indian River County.
