All lanes are back open after a tractor-trailer crash sent the driver to a local hospital and created heavy delays on Sandy Ln and Par Dr in Royal Palm Beach.
The wreck occurred in Royal Palm Beach just after Country Club Dr.
The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said the tractor-trailer driver, a 38-year-old man, lost control for reasons unknown. The rig veered off of the road and onto the western grass shoulder.
The truck then collided with a Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Sandy Ln and Par Dr. The driver was listed in critical condition according to the Palm Beach County Fire Department.
Chopper 5 flew over the area and spotted a substantial amount of debris strewn across the grassy area along the shoulder of the Sandy Ln.
The Toyota Corolla driver was taken to a nearby hospital according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. There were reportedly no passengers.
All lanes are now back open. The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone with additional information concerning the crash to contact the FHP.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Driving the speed limit on Florida’s Highways isn’t just the law. It may save your life by keeping you from being in an accident. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
