One Killed When Car Hits Two Trucks, House Near Greenacres
GREENACRES — A 35-year-old man died near Greenacres when a car in which he was a passenger struck a truck, then veered into a parked truck and then a house, authorities said.
According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s report, the man was fatally injured in the crash.
He was in a 2013 Honda Civic driven by a 75-year-old man of Lake Worth that was crossing Haverhill Road at Carver Street, just outside the Greenacres city limits.
The report said the man failed to yield to a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup that was northbound on Haverhill driven by a 20-year-old man of Palm Springs.
The crash sent the Honda into the front of an unoccupied 2004 Ford F-250 that was parked at a home on the 4900 block of Carver Street. The Honda then struck the home, the report said. It did not describe the damage either to the truck or the home.
A 75-year-old woman also sustained serious injuries in the wreck, authorities said.
All three people in the crash were taken to a hospital, not named, where the passenger died about two hours later, the report said. The driver suffered serious injuries.
The report said all three people wore safety belts. It did not list either alcohol or drugs as potential factors in the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
