Woman Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash In Belle Glade
A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a multi-vehicle crash near NW Avenue F and NW 14th Street.
Multiple vehicles and a motorcycle were involved in the crash, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
A Kia CRV turned left onto NW 14th Street from NW Avenue F in front of a Nissan truck, the sheriff’s office said.
The vehicles collided, sending the truck and its 47-year-old driver of Belle Glade over a concrete median and into the northbound lanes of traffic on Main Street.
A Toyota SUV immediately hit the truck, pushing it into the path of another vehicle, a full-size van. The van hit the driver’s side of the truck and went on to slightly side-brush a motorcycle.
The truck driver was seriously injured in the wreck. She was not wearing seat belt, records show.
Other drivers were not injured in the wreck, the sheriff’s office said. They were wearing a seat belt. On the other hand, the motorcyclist, also of Belle Glade, sustained bruises in the wreck.
The injured victim was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, her condition has not been disclosed. It is unclear whether the motorcyclist who only sustained bruises to the knee cap was taken to a hospital.
No word on what caused the crash and no further information is available at this time.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this accident. “It is so important to be aware of motorcyclists on the road because of the severity of their injuries in accidents. There was a public service campaign that encouraged drivers to look left, right and left again just to provide added protection to motorcyclists. If you were injured in an accident and want to discuss your rights, please contact my office for a free consolation”.
