Woman, 20, Killed In Fort Pierce Crash
FORT PIERCE, Fl — A 20-year-old woman from Fort Pierce was killed in a crash, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said.
The crash happened by 6101 Orange Ave. on State Road 68.
The woman was traveling east on State Road 68 before the crash. Another driver weaving across the inside and outside lanes lost control of the car and crashed into the woman’s vehicle, according to FHP. The car ran off the road to the right, traveled across the sidewalk and slammed into a fence. However, the car kept going and went through a hedge before colliding with two trees.
The car came to a final stop in a parking lot, according to FHP. The woman was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center where she later died. Her passenger, a 21-year-old man, had serious injuries.
The case is still pending an investigation.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Driving the speed limit on Florida’s Highways isn’t just the law. It may save your life by keeping you from being in an accident. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
