Port St. Lucie Man Killed In I-95 Wreck In Martin County
PALM CITY — A 21-year-old Port St. Lucie man was killed when he ran onto the southbound lanes of Interstate 95.
The 21-year-old man was killed on Interstate 95 in Martin County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Authorities identified him as a man from Port St. Lucie, although they originally listed him as a Loxahatchee resident.
He was fatally hit at dawn by a 2006 Volkswagen as he seemingly tried to run across the southbound lanes near mile marker 106. The Volkswagen was in the right lane, according to FHP troopers.
The driver pulled over and stayed at the scene after her car hit the another vehicle. She sustained minor injuries.
The driver, 20, is not facing any charges in the crash, and the FHP report did not find her at fault.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
