Woman Seriously Injured In Vero Beach Crash
VERO BEACH — Police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a woman after a pickup truck struck a vehicle and overturned.
A man and woman were inside the gray Toyota Tacoma that crashed in the 2400 block of De Soto Avenue, officials said.
The pickup truck was traveling north when it struck a parked vehicle and then overturned and stopped facing south in the northbound lane, police said at the scene.
Lt. Chris Roberts said they were investigating the crash and the vehicle’s possible involvement in another crash at a pizza restaurant shortly before the crash on De Soto. No information was available about that previous crash.
Roberts said the woman was taken to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.
The man was also taken to a hospital; Roberts said he was stable.
Roberts said they were not sure which person was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Police closed De Soto Avenue between 25th Street and Royal Palm Boulevard during the investigation.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Driving the speed limit on Florida’s Highways isn’t just the law. It may save your life by keeping you from being in an accident. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
