Pedestrian Killed In Crash Off Of Melaleuca Lane

A 22-year-old Lake Worth Beach man is dead after being hit by a truck while crossing Melaleuca Lane outside of Lake Worth Beach.

The man was walking north on Coconut Road early morning when he crossed Melaleuca Lane and stepped directly in the path of an eastbound Ford F-350 driven by a 55-year-old man also of Lake Worth Beach, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

He failed to yield the right of way to the other driver, the report said. Coconut is between Congress Avenue and Military Trail near Atlantis.

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead two hours after.

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving.  “This is a tragic car crash here in Palm Beach County.  Our thoughts go out to all that have been impacted by this terrible accident.”
