Serious Injury Crash Shuts Down Palm Springs Road
A multi-vehicle crash on 10th Avenue and Congress Avenue has shut down traffic in Palm Springs, authorities said.
Palm Springs Police on scene says a couple of children were involved in the crash. The children suffered various degrees of injuries –ranging from major to minor – and have been taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
The wreckage was severe. The driver of one of the vehicles had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel using extricating tools. The driver has been taken to a nearby hospital but his condition was not released.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and are working to clean up the mess. According to some witnesses, a vehicle crashed into several parked vehicles, causing a loud bang that woke some residents up.
10th Avenue North from Congress Avenue to around Rudolph Road will remain closed until authorities are able to clear the scene.
Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews to work. Some are pulling into nearby side streets. The delay of traffic on this route is due to the severity of the crash. It is best to use an alternative route.
Please drive with caution and stay safe.
