Man Killed In Fiery Crash In West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, Fl — A 57-year-old man was killed in a crash that caused his truck to go up in flames, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened on Southern Boulevard near Lyons Road.
A driver, 34, of Wellington, was heading east on Southern Boulevard while another driver, of Hollywood, was also heading east and driving in front of him, the sheriff’s office said. However, the first driver rear-ended the second driver’s truck, causing the truck to partially mount the median and catch fire with the driver trapped inside.
After the impact, the first driver’s Honda Civic crashed into the median and rolled over, with the car ending up on its roof.
The truck driver died at the scene and the first driver was taken to St. Marys Medical Center with serious injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. The first driver did have alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
