Man Killed In Fiery Crash Near SW Airoso Blvd
PORT ST LUCIE, Fl — A 37-year-old man was killed in a crash that caused his truck to go up in flames, the Port St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened on SW Airoso Boulevard near SE Thornhill Drive.
A driver, 24, of Wellington, was heading east on SE Thornhill Drive while another driver was also heading south on SW Airoso Blvd, the sheriff’s office said. However, the first driver T-boned the second driver’s truck causing the truck to partially mount the median and catch fire with the driver trapped inside.
After the impact, the first driver’s Honda Civic crashed into the median and rolled over with the car ending up on its roof.
The truck driver died at the scene and the first driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. The first driver did have alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are not being distracted by texting, talking on your phone or communicating with your passengers. If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
