Bicyclist, 57, Killed In Lantana-Area Hit-And-Run Crash; Investigators Seek Vehicle
Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian near Lantana, report says.
The crash happened shortly before midnight near Lantana Road and Bangalow Drive, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators say a 57-year-old Lake Worth-area man was pushing his bicycle across Lantana just east of Bangalow when he was sideswiped by a vehicle traveling east.
The man was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he died. Authorities did not disclose the man’s name as they still were attempting to contact his family.
After the crash, the vehicle continued east on Lantana Road and left the area, PBSO said. The vehicle has not been identified, but investigators say it is missing its passenger-side mirror and has possible passenger-side damage.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the authorities.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “That is a very busy intersections and drivers need to pay extra attention for pedestrians and bicyclists in that area.
