Jensen Beach Man, 22, Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Pompano Beach

A 22-year-old Jensen Beach man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Pompano Beach.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said the man died after a crash on I-95 near the W Copans Rd exit. Deputies were called to the crash involving a motorcycle on southbound Interstate 95 in Pompano Beach, according to an incident report.

During an initial investigation, deputies found that a man, 37, was driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee southbound on Interstate 95 and hit the motorcyclist who was driving a 2017 Yamaha FZ07 motorcycle.

Details about the crash were not available because it is still under investigation, said a spokeswoman for the BSO.

The SUV driver was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter without bond, she said.

Alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash, according to the report.
