Fatal Crash Spurs DUI Investigation In Boynton Beach
BOYNTON BEACH, Fl — A criminal investigation is underway following a crash in Boynton Beach that left one driver dead.
The crash happened at South Federal Highway and Woolbright Road. An eyewitness shared a photo of the crash scene.
Police said a man driving a Toyota Rav4 crashed into the back of a Honda Ridgeline, driven by a 51-year-old man of Boynton Beach. Witnesses said after he made contact with the driver of the Toyota, identified as an 18-year-old man of Hypoluxo, the driver started to pull away from the crash scene.
According to police, when he pulled away he crashed into a red Hyundai Sonata driven by a 21-year-old woman from Boynton Beach. The Toyota hit the Honda again before striking Armstrong, killing him.
Police said the driver showed signs of impairment at the crash scene. Criminal charges are pending toxicology results.
Police are asking for witnesses of the crash to call investigators at 561-742-6165.
