Crash Involving SUV Kills Person In St. Lucie County
ST LUCIE COUNTY, Fla.— An investigation is underway following a crash in St. Lucie County that left one driver dead.
The crash happened at St. Lucie Boulevard and Old Dixie Highway in St. Lucie County.
Police said a man driving a Toyota Rav4 crashed into the back of a Honda SUV, driven by a 47-year-old man of Boynton Beach. Witnesses said after the driver made contact with the driver of the Toyota, identified as a 21-year-old man of Hypoluxo, he started to pull away from the crash scene.
According to police, when the driver pulled away he crashed into a red Hyundai Sonata driven by a 21-year-old woman from Boynton Beach. The Toyota hit the Honda again before striking the driver which killed him.
Police said the driver showed signs of impairment at the crash scene. Criminal charges are pending toxicology results.
Police are asking for witnesses to the crash to call investigators at 561-742-6165.
