Man Injured In Military Trail Crash
The crash happened when a truck struck a car and killed a man in Military Trail near Forest Hill Boulevard, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
The crash at Forest Hill Boulevard and Military Trail killed one man from suburban West Palm Beach. He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old who sustained minor injuries.
The truck’s headlights were turned off when it sped into the intersection and ran a stop sign. Its front end had a “violent collision” with the rear of the passenger side of the vehicle, investigators said in their crash report. The force of the crash threw the man from the car.
The driver left the scene leaving the truck behind, PBSO said. The sheriff’s office did not release a description of the driver.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Cases involving accidents with trucks are always subject to heightened scrutiny because of the additional regulations placed on drivers of those vehicles. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
