Pedestrian Killed In Greenacres Crash

GREENACRES — A 37-year-old man was killed in Greenacres after a vehicle struck him, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash took place near the intersection of Military Trail and Lake Worth Road.

A Toyota Camry hit the man, who was not identified, as he attempted to cross Military Trail’s southbound lanes while walking westbound. The sheriff’s office said the man failed to use a crosswalk fewer than 200 feet away. He died at the scene.

A male was driving the Toyota, according to a traffic homicide report. The sheriff’s report did not list an address or age for him, citing the state’s public record exemption that protects such information for law enforcement officers and their relatives.

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are paying attention to all road signs and signals.  If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
