Two Injured In Crash Near Okeechobee Boulevard and Military Trail

Two people were injured on Okeechobee Boulevard and Military Trail due to a car crash involving two vehicles.

According to a PBSO report, a 25-year-old man of suburban West Palm Beach was driving westbound in an SUV on Okeechobee Boulevard near Military Trail.

FHP said it appeared that the driver was traveling at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle and traveled across the westbound lanes of Okeechobee Boulevard. The SUV swerved sideways before it violently slammed into another vehicle – a Ford Escape. The impact of the collision disabled the Ford.

The SUV continued to slide across the sidewalk before it was halted by a palm tree on the north side of Okeechobee Boulevard.

The Ford driver and his passenger, a 19-year-old Palm Beach resident, suffered serious injuries. Both victims were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Fire Rescue responded and transported the victims to the hospital. The passenger suffered a dislocation of the shoulder joint and rib fracture while the driver suffered a concussion. The driver sustained some injuries as well. However, his condition is unknown at the time of this report.

Okeechobee Boulevard near Military Trail will remain closed until authorities are able to clear the scene.
