Port St. Lucie Man Dies In Martin County Pickup Crash On Interstate 95
MARTIN COUNTY — A 55-year-old Port St. Lucie man has died after crashing his pickup truck into a tree off Interstate 95 near Palm City, according to highway officials.
The man, whose name has not been released by the Florida Highway Patrol, died at the scene after losing control of his truck on southbound I-95 shortly after dawn.
He swerved off the right shoulder about midway between Southwest Martin Highway and the Florida Turnpike, crash investigators stated.
Investigators are still trying to determine what caused him to swerve. It is unclear if there are other victims or another vehicle at the time of the crash.
Investigations are ongoing.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Cases involving accidents with trucks are always subject to heightened scrutiny because of the additional regulations placed on drivers of those vehicles. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
