Man In Critical Condition After Hit-And-Run Crash In Fort Pierce

FORT PIERCE, Fla. — A man is in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash, Fort Pierce police said.

The crash temporarily shut down northbound lanes of South 25th Street from Georgia Avenue to Florida Avenue.

Police say two cars were involved in a minor fender bender a little after 6 p.m.

A 44-year-old man, who was driving one of the cars involved in the crash, got out and walked on the road when a Nissan Frontier hit him, according to police. The driver of the Nissan Frontier took off, but was found and detained late into the night.

The victim, who’s from Vero Beach, was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “A Hit-and-run is one of the worst type of accidents.  When that person that fled the scene is caught you have rights that are different then in a regular car crash.  Make sure you speak to a licensed professional about your rights”.
