Woman From Stuart Killed In Hit-And-Run, Two Drivers Sought

STUART, Fla. — A woman from Stuart is dead and the Florida Highway Patrol is looking for two hit-and-run drivers.

According to the FHP, a 49-year-old woman crossed SE Old Dixie Highway near SW Delmar Street when a pickup truck hit her. A second vehicle, described as a white 4-door sedan, hit her a second time.

Both drivers kept going, the FHP said.

The pickup truck is described as a two-tone colored vehicle, light on top and dark on the bottom.

The woman died at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “A Hit-and-run is one of the worst type of accidents.  When that person that fled the scene is caught you have rights that are different then in a regular car crash.  Make sure you speak to a licensed professional about your rights”.
