1 Killed, Vero Beach Man Critically Injured In Three-Vehicle State Road 60 Crash
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Georgia man died and a Vero Beach man was left in critical condition after a crash on State Road 60 involving two pickups and a sport utility vehicle.
A Honda HR-V SUV driven by a 44-year-old from Cumming, Georgia collided with a 2016 Chevy pickup driven by a Vero Beach man, 47, on State Road 60 near U.S. 441, also known as South Kenansville Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.
The driver of the Honda SUV was pronounced dead at the crash site west of the Florida Turnpike, officials said in a news release.
Witnesses reportedly told state troopers that the Honda SUV tried to pass other vehicles while travelling westbound on the highway, and passed into oncoming traffic where it first struck a trailer pulled behind a 2006 Chevy pickup.
The pickup was driven by a Pompano Beach woman, 57, who was uninjured, according to the report.
After striking the trailer’s left side, the Honda SUV collided head-on with the 2016 Chevy driven by the Vero Beach man, officials said in the release.
State troopers are still looking into details of the crash. They did not release names.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Be especially careful when entering an intersection with many local business present. If you were involved in an accident due to someone else being distracted, call me for a free consultation so we can discuss your rights and what compensation you may be entitled to.”
