FHP: Crash Between Patrol Car And Other Vehicle Blocked I-95 Lanes In Jupiter
JUPITER — A crash between a “reckless vehicle” and a Florida Highway Patrol cruiser shut down southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Indiantown Road in Jupiter, FHP said.
The agency received multiple calls about the vehicle, a green Mercedes-Benz, said Lt. Alvaro Feola, FHP spokesman. Troopers tried to stop it and the vehicle “collided” with the FHP car at dawn, he said.
The make and model of the vehicle wasn’t immediately available.
The drivers sustained minor injuries, and traffic on the highway backed up while troopers investigated the crash. The lanes reopened shortly after two hours.
There was no immediate word on whether the driver would face criminal charges in the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
