PBSO: Driver, 56, Dies After Crash Near Wellington Mall
WELLINGTON – A 56-year-old man has died from injuries he sustained in an earlier crash south of the Mall at Wellington Green, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
He was southbound on State Road 7 in his 2019 Buick Encore when for “unknown reasons” he failed to stop at a red light at Stribling Way just after noon, PBSO said.
He drove into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe as he turned east onto Stribling and the SUVs crashed sending both drivers to Wellington Regional Medical Center.
PBSO said doctors transferred the man, who lived west of Lantana, to Delray Medical Center. He died in hospice care a month after the crash.
The driver of the Tahoe, a 55-year-old man of Wellington, sustained minor injuries.
Both men were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck, and the report PBSO released does not mention either further investigation or pending charges.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
