Fiery Turnpike Crash Kills Passenger
A deadly accident on the Florida Turnpike in Palm Beach remains under investigation.
The accident happened in the westbound lanes around midnight west of Okeechobee Blvd.
The driver of a 2004 Hyundai, identified as a 33-year-old man was stopped in the left lane when the car was rear-ended by a Nissan driven by a 26-year-old man, according to the FHP.
On impact, the Hyundai erupted into flames. The driver, who was critically injured, was pulled from the car by the man and another driver. The person in the passenger seat died at the scene.
The FHP has not released the name of the passenger.
