Man Pleas Guilty In Crash That Killed Teen Near West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH — A 51-year-old man pleaded guilty in a crash that killed a 17-year-old in suburban West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County court records show.
The man pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal crash and to driving without a license.
According to reports, a 17-year-old teen tried to cross Haverhill Road just south of Summit Pines Boulevard, near his West Palm Beach home, when he was fatally hit by the driver.
The 51-year-old was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report.
Investigators said the teen was walking outside a crosswalk when he was hit and thrown 50 feet. The teen died at the scene.
Witness tips led PBSO to the driver’s home, where they found the damaged SUV.
Comments:
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “A Hit-and-run is one of the worst type of accidents. When that person that fled the scene is caught you have rights that are different then in a regular car crash. Make sure you speak to a licensed professional about your rights”.
