PBSO: 1 Dead, 1 Critical Condition After Wrong-Way Crash

One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a wrong-way crash near Hypoluxo Road, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

At dawn, a 29-year-old man was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Military Trail in a 2017 Nissan Rouge. At the same time, a 64-year-old was headed south in the southbound lanes in a 2017 Toyota Camry, just south of Hypoluxo Road. The two vehicles collided head-on and the men suffered critical injures.

The 64-year-old later died at the hospital and the younger driver remained in critical condition, according to authorities.

The report says both men were wearing seatbelts. As of the time of this report, authorities did not know if alcohol or speed were involved, or why the 29-year-old was driving in the wrong direction.

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are not being distracted by texting, talking on your phone or communicating with your passengers.  If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
