Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 near Palmetto Park Road
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Crews are working to remove the wreck of a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi near Boca Raton.
According to a report, a rescue crew was at the scene of a serious collision involving multiple vehicles. The wreck happened in the northbound lanes of I-95, just before Palmetto Park Road.
A semi-truck appeared to be jackknifed on the highway, according to drivers in the area. I-95 near Palmetto Park Road was “currently impassable and driving conditions are poor,” authorities said.
The cause of the crash was unknown. The speedometer was retrieved from the semi, which police said shows it was speeding because it was stuck at 80 MPH. Investigators have not concluded whether drugs or alcohol may have been a factor.
FHP was asking the public to avoid the area.
There were no details on the type of injuries. Police were expected to give an update once the scene was cleared.
