Fatal Crash Shuts Down The Turnpike In Martin County

Martin County, Fl— A 27-year-old man from Delray Beach is dead following a crash between a food truck and a dump truck on the Florida Turnpike in Martin County.

A report from the Martin County Sheriff stated, “Serious crash, double rollover, semi vs. dump truck, turnpike, southbound at the turnpike.  One fatality.  Southbound turnpike will be closed for several hours.  FHP investigating.”

The crash happened in the southbound lanes at mile marker 128, just south of the Kanner Highway overpass.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a truck collided with the rear of another truck. Both trucks overturned and crashed.

EMS was called and First responders arrived promptly to the scene of the accident. A 58-year-old man from West Palm Beach was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities shut down the southbound lanes of the Turnpike for more than six hours.
