Two People Killed In I-95 Crash In St. Lucie W Blvd
ST LUCIE COUNTY — Two men were killed in a rollover crash that shut down all northbound lanes of I-95 near St. Lucie W Blvd, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened just before the St. Lucie W Blvd exit, according to FHP. Traffic was allowed to pass on the shoulder.
A trailer-truck, driven by a man from Pompano Beach, was heading north on I-95 when he lost control of the truck and hit a vehicle on another lane, according to FHP. The truck started to roll over as it went off the road and onto the right grassy shoulder. The truck landed on its roof.
A 28-year-old man and his brother, 24, died at the scene, according to FHP. Both men were from Pompano Beach.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries while a passenger from the other vehicle was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The other passenger, 32, wasn’t injured.
It’s unclear what caused the driver to lose control of the truck, according to FHP. The crash is still being investigated.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Driving the speed limit on Florida’s Highways isn’t just the law. It may save your life by keeping you from being in an accident. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
