Man Killed In Fatal Crash Near Lantana Road
A 28-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road 7 and Lantana Rd.
The man was westbound on State Road 7, east of Lantana, in the outside lane. He was traveling at a speed well above the posted 50 mph speed limit according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
He lost control of the vehicle and struck an SUV. The right front of the car impacted with the SUV and rotated in a counter-clockwise direction as it moved in the southwest direction. The left rear of the car then hit a curb. The vehicle came to rest in the center median.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened and the victim was transported to Delray Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Lantana Rd is partially closed at the moment due to the severity of the crash, causing traffic delays. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews to work. It is best to use an alternative route.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
