Trailer-Truck Crash Near Belle Glade Canal Sends Driver To Hospital

A 54-year-old man from Royal Palm Beach is dead after the trailer-truck he was driving crashed into a parked vehicle, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

According to reports, the man was headed northwest on the 28400 block of SW Conners Highway, along Lake Okeechobee, when the trailer-truck veered off the road, struck a parked vehicle, and flipped over. The truck was upside down when investigators arrived.

First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened. The driver was removed from the truck and assessed to have suffered deadly injuries to the head and neck. The driver was taken to Lakeside Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time. A woman was found trapped in the driver’s side of the parked vehicle. She suffered injuries and was flown to the hospital.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.  The cause of the crash is being investigated.
