Woman, 39, Dies In Hit-And-Run Crash In Lake Worth Beach

LAKE WORTH BEACH — A hit-and-run crash in Lake Worth Beach killed a 39-year-old woman who lived near Greenacres, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators are looking for the driver of the 1995 Ford F-150 pickup that struck and killed the woman at North Dixie Highway and Seventh Avenue North.

The crash took place just before midnight. PBSO said she was crossing Dixie from west to east when she walked into the path of the northbound truck. The impact threw her to the pavement. Paramedics declared her dead at the scene.

The driver fled northbound on Dixie, PBSO said. Investigators found the truck on Olive Avenue in West Palm Beach.

PBSO asks anyone who saw the crash to call Investigator Troy Snelgrove at 561-681-4536 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS (8477).

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “A Hit-and-run is one of the worst type of accidents.  When that person that fled the scene is caught you have rights that are different then in a regular car crash.  Make sure you speak to a licensed professional about your rights”.
