Palm Springs Man, 59, Dies From Injuries In Pedestrian Crash

A 59-year-old Palm Springs-area man has died from injuries he sustained when he was hit by a vehicle, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man died at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. He was involved in a crash on Jog Road south of Forest Hill Boulevard in Greenacres. According to a sheriff’s report, a 2014 Chrysler 200 was traveling north on Jog and approaching Forest Hill in the moments before the crash.

The pedestrian, who was walking east after dusk, improperly crossed into the Chrysler’s path, the report said. He was thrown onto the hood of the car and hit the windshield before landing on the road.

The driver of the Chrysler, identified as a female, 37, of suburban West Palm Beach, was treated for minor injuries. Neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the crash, the report said, and no charges were filed.
