Port St. Lucie Man Killed On Indian River Drive After Detached Trailer Strikes Motorcycle
ST LUCIE COUNTY — A Port St. Lucie man was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a trailer that separated from a pickup truck on South Indian River Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol stated in a crash report.
The crash happened in the 4200 block of South Indian River Drive when a trailer detached from a northbound pickup truck and collided with two Port St. Lucie men, both age 60, traveling south just north of Midway Road, the FHP reported.
One of the two men struck later died from his injuries, according to FHP.
FHP officials didn’t identify the motorcyclists or the 29-year-old Malabar man who was driving the pickup truck.
The road was reopened to traffic after several hours, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this accident. “It is so important to be aware of motorcyclists on the road because of the severity of their injuries in accidents. There was a public service campaign that encouraged drivers to look left, right and left again just to provide added protection to motorcyclists. If you were injured in an accident and want to discuss your rights, please contact my office for a free consolation”.
