Driver Arrested In Boynton Beach For Crash That Killed A Motorcyclist
A motorcyclist was killed in Boynton Beach after being struck by a car that tried leaving the scene of the crash, before being caught by police authorities.
Boynton Beach police say Woolbright Road had to be shut down in both directions from the Interstate 95 exit to Seacrest Boulevard as police officials and the Florida Highway Patrol officials investigated the fatal wreck.
The motorcyclist of Boynton Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
A Boynton Beach police spokeswoman said the motorcyclist was driving an orange 2008 Honda 600RR west on Woolbright Road when a white Buick made a left turn in front of him to go north on Southwest 2nd Street.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the vehicle.
Police officials and the Florida Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the driver of the Buick has been arrested and is in a police station in Boynton Beach. Police officials also said no charges have been filed yet as investigations are still ongoing.
Anyone with relevant information as yo what must have caused the crash is asked to call the Palm Beach Traffic Homicide Investigating Department.
