3 Martin Teens killed, 1 Other Dead In A Car Crash In Port Salerno

Three Martin County teenagers were killed in a crash in Port Salerno as reported by the authorities.

The car crash occurred in Port Salerno, east of Indiantown. An 18-year-old was speeding west on Port Salerno in a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, troopers said. As the car crossed over a railroad crossing it flew into the air.

When the car landed, the 18- year-old lost control, went off the right side of the road and overcorrected, veering left. The car went off the left side of the road, struck a Toyota Sequoia then overturned. It landed on its roof on the road.

The Martin County teens were killed on Port Salerno, FHP said. The car struck this a Toyota Sequoia before it landed on its roof.

The 18-year-old driver was killed. His front passenger, a 17-year-old, and a 16-year-old back-seat passenger were also killed.

The driver of the Toyota Sequoia was also pronounced dead after being taken to the Martin County General Hospital.

A back-seat passenger in the Toyota Sequoia, an 18-year-old was thrown out of the car and landed in a ditch on the right side of the road. He was flown to the local hospital where he is in critical condition.

The third 17-year-old passenger was also taken to the hospital, troopers said. Her condition is not available.

Troopers do not yet know if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
