Teen Fractures Femur After ATV Crash

FELLSMERE — A 17-year-old has a fractured femur following an all-terrain vehicle crash at an off-road race track.

The incident happened about noon at Mesa Motocross Park in Fellsmere, north of County Road 512, Indian River County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Jamie Coleman said. The teenage boy was riding the four-wheeler ATV when the vehicle crashed on the track.

The teen was taken by ambulance to Sebastian River Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Coleman said. There were no passengers riding the ATV during the wreck, Coleman said.

No further details were available.
