Two Injured In Crash On U.S. 1 In Martin County

MARTIN COUNTY — A crash near the intersection of U.S. 1 and Southeast Morningside Drive injured two people and closed part of the highway to traffic until hours after, said Martin County Fire spokesperson Bethany Alex.

Firefighters received reports of the two-vehicle crash, Alex said, and called a helicopter to fly one person with critical injuries to a hospital.

Alex said another person suffered moderate injuries and was driven to a hospital via ambulance.

She said the crash happened on the northbound side of U.S. 1 and southbound lanes were blocked off for emergency responders.

No information was available Friday on the vehicles or people involved in the crash or any details about the crash.
