Man Driving Golf Cart Killed In Crash Near Boca Raton

A man driving a golf cart outside the Woodfield Country Club west of Boca Raton was killed when he turned into the path of an oncoming vehicle, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says.

The victim, 67, of suburban Lake Worth Beach, was driving a golf cart eastbound on the shoulder of Yamato Road east of Florida’s Turnpike when he suddenly turned left onto Yamato and into the path of an SUV, deputies said.

The SUV, a 2019 Acura MDX driven by a woman, 36, of suburban Delray Beach, hit the driver’s side of the golf cart ejecting the man who then died, police said.

Neither the driver nor her two passengers, children ages 8 and 10, were injured, police said.

Sheriff’s deputies do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved, and no charges were filed.

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are paying attention to all road signs and signals.  If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
