Fort Pierce Woman Dies In Weekend Crash On U.S. 1
ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A 52-year-old woman died after a traffic crash on U.S. 1 south of East Midway Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at Tropical Isles Way and U.S. 1 as the 52-year-old Fort Pierce woman drove a sedan south on U.S. 1, the FHP stated.
“A van coming out of Tropical Isles Way turned left in the path of the sedan causing the sedan to strike a concrete pole on the west side of U.S. 1,” the FHP stated. “A parked vehicle in a nearby car lot was struck by a steel railing from the crash as well.”
The driver of the sedan died at the scene, while a passenger in the sedan, a 51-year-old Fort Pierce woman, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.
The driver of the van, an 85-year-old Clarksboro, New Jersey, man, sustained minor injuries.
The names of those involved in the crash were not released.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
