Pedestrian killed near WPB Century Village after he is struck by car

A man was killed when he was hit by a car as he crossed a street near Century Village in West Palm Beach, police said.

The man, 37, was crossing Okeechobee Boulevard at Meridian Road between Century Village and Plantation Mobile Home Park, when a 2007 Saturn Vue being driven west on Okeechobee Blvd crashed into him, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.

The collision threw him to the ground west of the crash, killing him, police said.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be involved. His address is listed in the report as being “at large.”

Deputies do not appear to be investigating the crash as a homicide or manslaughter.
