2 Troopers Injured In Crash On Florida’s Turnpike
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Two Florida Highway Patrol troopers were injured in a crash on Florida’s Turnpike in Palm Beach Gardens.
According to FHP Lt. Yanko Reyes, a truck pulling a trailer with three vehicles on it lost control near mile marker 113 and caused a collision between the troopers, who were conducting a traffic stop.
Reyes said both troopers and the driver of the vehicle that was stopped were seriously injured, although their injuries were not life threatening.
FHP said all northbound lanes were closed earlier but reopened after a few hours.
According to FHP, both troopers, as well as the person involved in the traffic stop, are in stable condition at Jupiter Medical Hospital.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Cases involving accidents with trucks are always subject to heightened scrutiny because of the additional regulations placed on drivers of those vehicles. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers blatantly violate these regulations, which results in catastrophic consequences.”
