DUI Investigation Opened In Deadly Two-Car Crash On West Broward Boulevard
FORT LAUDERDALE — Alcohol may have been a factor in a crash on West Broward Boulevard that left one man dead and three others injured, police said.
The two-car crash happened shortly before dawn and led to the shutdown of all westbound lanes from the 1100 block to the 1800 block during rush hour.
Few details were released by the Fort Lauderdale police regarding the collision. But the department did confirm that a DUI investigation into one of two drivers involved in the crash was in progress.
The crash appeared to involve a Honda CR-V and a black sedan. Both cars were sitting damaged along 15th Avenue North for several hours. Authorities did not say which driver was under investigation for a possible DUI.
All four people involved in the crash were taken to Broward Health Medical Center with injuries, and one man later died, according to Fort Lauderdale police. Two others were seriously hurt and one had only minor injuries.
Police have not released the name of the man who died.
The road was fully reopened at around 10 a.m. after investigators processed the scene.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
