Hyundai Genesis Driver Sought In Hit-And-Run In Delray Beach

DELRAY BEACH, Fla.— Police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run that sent a bicyclist to the hospital in Delray Beach.

The crash happened on Barwick Road near Barrett Street.

Police said the driver of a 2014-16 Hyundai Genesis hit a 71-year-old man.

He was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Police said the driver left the scene. But investigators were able to identify the make and model of the car due to evidence. Police said the car should have front-end damage, including damage to the wheel housing.

Police want the driver to come forward with a statement. Call investigators Henry Lugo or Matthew Saraceni at 561-243-7800 if you have any information.

Comments:

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “A Hit-and-run is one of the worst type of accidents.  When that person that fled the scene is caught you have rights that are different then in a regular car crash.  Make sure you speak to a licensed professional about your rights”.
