Lake Worth-Area Woman Killed In Crash Near Jog And Hypoluxo Roads
LANTANA — A man involved in a crash west of Lantana that killed a Lake Worth-area woman had significant traces of alcohol in his system, authorities said.
Blood tests done on the driver shortly after the crash found him to be over the legal threshold for intoxication when his car hit one driven by the victim, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The force of the wreck at Jog and Hypoluxo roads was so strong that it threw the victim from her car even despite wearing a seat belt, according to a PBSO crash report.
PBSO’s arrest report said the driver ran a red light and crashed into the other vehicle, killing one person.
The victim was taken to Delray Medical Center where she died hours later from life-threatening injuries suffered in the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
